"Traditional" builds of ruby are available... but of course I'm partial to JRuby after seeing that it passes *all* test cases some that even the "official" ruby interpreter can't... and of course, it's the fastest one around. Coupled with that the integation with plethora of Java libraries and the amazing SJAS/glassfish app server and all the work that has gone into netbeans 6.0 for Ruby support, and it becomes a no brainer. > I use a wireless USB to connect the computer running > it to the internet and network. AFAIK, ndis is there in latest builds by default. Double check and pre-download just to be on safer side. > Does O/S use grub as the operating system loader? Yes. It's a customised version but lives with other OSs merrily (some bits added, everything else included). > So with the NTFS partitions I can read them just > fine, but as of right now I cannot write to them? Well, yes! unless you're adventurous and want to experiement with the current builds of fuse (there is FUSE project homepage on opensolaris.org, do check it out).
