One could argue that the primary "users" of any operating environment are 
empirically the system administrators; as they 
use the OE and OE tools to manage the environment (including development 
tools).  Developers, for example, use a subset 
of the tools available to achieve development-oriented aims. OTOH I am not 
certain how many sysadmins are actually paid 
to manage OpenSolaris Production environments...

Agreed. There is indeed a great diversity of projects within the OpenSolaris 
arena, yet an underlying cohesion is 
present within OpenSolaris that Linux certainly lacks. This is one of the great 
strengths of OpenSolaris.
