True. And that is most likely why GNU/Linux and Windows will never be more than just good enough; they're dragging along way too much desktop mentality and desktop luggage, which is the concept of computing from the last century (times have changed in the meanwhile, and significantly at that). But if one starts with a solid foundation like Solaris, one can branch out into anything else, and that includes the desktop, if need be.
