ZFS is designed to do exactly what you want, they way you want it. No need to 
muck with SVM (Sun Volume Manager), unless you have a very specific need and 
scenario that needs addressed (which you do not seem to have). And guess what, 
ZFS is available on Solaris 10 starting with Solaris 10 06/06 (Solaris 10 u2).
