It requires a bit of relearning, but fairly easy to adjust to once you let go of certain (year/decade) old habits.. fwiw.. I do agree with you that certain gnu tools provide an interface that is more user friendly.. For my project as we identify.. we try to implement the low hanging fruit.. such as -i in find and other things.. This way we try to keep the fast solaris userland and add /mint/ where it makes sense instead of cp -rf gnu*.. Anyway.. this topic could go on for a long time..
