It had windows XP on it before.. not the PCI SATA card though. Windows was able to recognize the onboard sata controller. It was in use as video editing, and photoshop work, machine. It seemed to be pretty solid in that role and only was retired from it to give me a 64 bit OS for my Osol/zfs project.
