I'm not sure if the fan is managed or not. It takes some time to heat

You can try to run "dtrace -m tzmon" (enables all probes in the
tzmon kernel module), maybe some of the acpi error probes
(tzmon_set_power alx-error / tzmon_set_power_device alx-error)
are running?
I tried "dtrace -n :tzmon::alx-error,alx-missing" but no probe fire
until the system crashes (someone needs another minicom.cab?).
Isn't there a way to control or at least monitor the fan?
Or restrict the max freq of the CPU/P-State?
Right now the easiest way for me to prenvent a shutdown is to disable
the 2nd core. Well, live upgrade still managed to overheat (or crash?)
the system probably because of the additional heat of the hdd.
