Booted my favorite Linux LiveCD and ran # while true; lzma -c -9 /tmp/scd0.img > /dev/null; done and # dd if=/dev/sda1 | lzma -c -9 > /dev/nullin parallel with scd0.img being the content of the CD copied into the RAM and sda1 the 186GB whole-disc-partition on the harddisk. Watched 3 Episodes of a TV-series with some interruptions and didn't notice any unusual behavior while both cores were at 99% to 100% usage according to top (separate CPU mode) the whole time. After reading your mail I rebooted again and sent a break after the hostname was set to drop into kmdb and guess what, ::msgbuf starts with ACPI-errors:
