installation at the factory.

Oh, and I'm running a XVM/Xen-kernel which doesn't use any frequency scaling according to powertop.

because of a hardware failure I'm currently using a T60p (Core Duo,
32bit) instead of a R61 (Core 2 Duo, 64bit). I simply put the HDD of the
R61 with a SXCE 110 installation into the T60p and the only obvious
'problems' are the changed network interfaces.

My guess is there's a profile for the cpu-fan which is for the R61 (on
which the system was installed) but does not match the thermal design of
a T60p but it's still active.

Right now cpu is clocked to the max frequency but the system is idling
and 'cpupm' is enabled by /etc/power.conf:

Main Menu -> Preferences -> Powermanagment:
Tab 'On AC Power', 'Computer speed policy' is set to "Based on processor
load" and the BIOS setting for CPU powermanagment on AC is set to
"Balanced" (instead "Maximun Performance")

I cannot find anything else about controlling the fan behavior, any
hints someone?
