Is the onboard sata controller set to legacy pci-ide
emulation mode in the bios?  That could explain
why 4 out of 6 of the onboard sata ports do
not appear in cfgadm -l output.

cfgadm -lv reports the physical device paths for
the sata ports.  With that additional information
is should be possible to find out if sata1/1 is
a port on the Silicon Image controller...
