do that?
You can't make it look identical to CDE, but you can certainly move
things around a bit in OpenSolaris to get a similar layout.
You already have 4 desktops in OpenSolaris by default, you can move
between them by clicking on the four squares at the right of the
bottom panel, or by using keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl+Alt+arrows, by
default).
You can move the squares (or anything else) to a different place on
the panel if you prefer, by dragging with the middle mouse button.
However, by default, objects are locked to the panels, so first you'll
have to unlock anything you want to move, and anything that's in the
way of where you want to move it to, by right-clicking it and
unchecking the "Lock to panel" item.
The closest thing to CDE's 'buttons with the up arrow' are called
'drawers' in OpenSolaris. They don't behave *exactly* the same, but
they might be good enough for you. You can add a drawer to a panel by
right-clicking an empty area of the panel, selecting 'Add to Panel',
and choosing Drawer from the list.
A drawer is initially empty. To add things to a drawer, you can right-
click it and select "Add to Drawer". Or, you can drag menu items
directly from the Applications, Places and Systems menus on the top
panel into an open drawer.
If you want to delete the top panel altogether, just right click an
empty area, and select "Delete This Panel". This will delete all the
objects on the panel as well, some of which you'll probably want to
add back to the bottom panel. The list of objects on the top panel by
default is:
* Menubar applet
* Home folder shortcut
* Firefox shortcut
* Thunderbird shortcut
* Package Manager shortcut
* Terminal shortcut
* Status Notification applet
* Network Monitor applet
* Volume Control applet
* Clock applet
Again, you can add any of these to the bottom panel by right-clicking
an empty area of the panel, and selecting "Add to Panel".

Calum.
