It depends on what Broadcom chipset is there. I also have Broadcom in my Macbook Pro and I had to use NDIS wrapper (32-bit only mode) to get it working. Some of them are supported out of the box.

You can run the Live CD and find out if your Broadcom card is
supported. I remember in openSUSE on my laptop when it came with
Broadcom wireless I had to download the card firmware, but that was
it. It shouldn't be that hard in OpenSolaris.

Good luck!

Hi,

I was wondering if I would be able to run openSolaris on my Gateway MX6441 AMD
Turion 64 Mobile Technology, 798MHz, 448MB DDR laptop with a Broadcom wireless
card and ATI graphics.

I'm not very technical, but I have been using Ubuntu on my laptop for about 6
months. Â I would like to put openSolaris on a partition and see if it is for
me. Â However, If I won't be able to get the wireless to work then I really
need not try. Â I mainly use my laptop for just web browsing, OpenOffice
applications, and personal e-mail.
