Well, that's a real pity. I still was under the impression
that Adaptec was THE manufacturer of choice when
it comes to SCSI adapters. Granted, they seem to have
moved on to newer technologies (RAID and PCIe).
That probably explains why they're not really
interested in things as old as the AHA-2940 and
I bet a 64-bit version will never see the light of day.
Regarding this particular card, it is interesting to
notice that the only flavors of Unix supported are SCO
OpenServer and UnixWare. There is no mention
of Solaris as a supported card for the 2940.

Yes, they do officially support Solaris starting with the
29160 (sol7 and 8!). Of course, that's an LVD adapter.
If you so unlucky as to have a single-ended SCSI
backup unit as I do, and still want to use OpenSolaris
to drive it, your only recourse is to bet on SXCE in 32
bit mode.
