You can probably make this work under LP or CUPS on OpenSolaris. The
linuxprinting.org page for this printer claims that it works fine with
the Ghostscript pxlmono driver
(http://www.openprinting.org/show_printer.cgi?recnum=Brother-HL-2150N).
You should be able to use the Brother HL-2060 / Foomatic/pxlmono PPD.
If you want the Ubuntu experience, you can switch to CUPS on OpenSolaris
and use the print service (CUPS) and configuration tool
(system-config-printer) that Ubuntu uses. See
http://blogs.sun.com/jacobs/entry/more_on_using_cups_in
Note that the hl1250 driver is currently not built and packaged for
OpenSolaris, so pxlmono or lj5gray are the next best choice.

I have laserprinter Brother HL-2150N and I try install it with the printmanager
and connection type IPP.
No it is not possible for me.
(pc + adsl + Brother)
Very easy installation with Vista and Ubuntu (Gnome).
Somebody can say "use then Vista or Ubuntu".
Yes I use too but I want use rather Opensolaris.
Ubuntu's gnome have a tool and it can find the printer at once.
Opensolaris have too gnome but no a clever tool. Why it is so?
Yes I know there is very, very, very many pages directions "how to use printer"
in Opensolaris/Solaris. And the user (no expert) can read and think many days how can I
use my printer...no, it is impossible again.
My devout request for so many people who are working for Opensolaris and
Solaris,
please let us solve this problem. I am sure that it is possible for you.
And so many, many can use the "printerinstallationtime" for something else.
So many users were very happy if they could install printer easier.
Christmas present for many users!
(I am sorry my bad english.)
