Yup, I figured that out, hence the [SOLVED] addition to the subject.  :o)

Yea, but before I knew about the .zfs/snapshot directory, I thought my only 
option was to destroy snapshots all the way back to the one I wanted, and then 
restore from that, hence "resetting" the state to that point in time.
