When checksum errors happen randomly on any disk it usually either means that 
your server has bad RAM or a bad powersupply. Check out this link below:

You will probably want to run memtest 86 on the server and/or replace the power 
supply:

When I had a similar problem, I replaced a bad stick of RAM in the server and 
as soon as I removed the bad stick of RAM, the checksum errors went away. End 
to end data integrity includes catching errors created by bad RAM or bad power 
supplies.
