Hi,

# dladm show-link
# dladm show-ether
# dladm show-phys
# dladm show-linkprop <interface name>   or without a name it will show you 
properties for all interfaces

And yes it's often necessary to change properties, ie. auto-negotiation and 
mtu/jumbo frames.
