rlhamil, I agree totally with your view point, but when someone obviously needs some assistance a one line elitist remark of "If you use OpenSolaris, you should know how to build applications from source." is really presumptuous and is not needed.
Like you said all walks of life come here to lurk, participate, learn, and help. But comments like this are not needed and show that geek anti-social attitude that common not techies see and expect from people that in their mind sit behind a computer all day and watch pron. I watch this form out of interest in the operating environment and from a social standpoint and it really amazes me with the total disregard for the human aspect of communication.
