From your choice of words and some of the other statements in your
post, I will assume that you find it repulsive that Oracle has chosen to
rebrand several of the former Sun products that they have purchased.
Perhaps you didn't know this, but IBM aquired Tivoli Systems, Inc. and
Lotus Development Corporation in the 1990s and they have since renamed
some (if not all) of their products to include the IBM name. I imagine
that these aren't isolated instances. This isn't to say that they
haven't continued to invest in those products, much as Oracle is
choosing to do. It's not uncommon for companies to rebrand things they
aquire.
And Oracle is really paying you to scour IBM sites to refute an opinion?
I can't speak for Alan, but perhaps he was just trying to provide you
with more accurate information so that you might be able to form a more
informed opinion.
