I found another doc that I tired and it worked on my Opensolaris 2010.05 134b install. an opensolaris 134 liveCD can be used. http://www.deadnode.org/articles/2010/04/08/reset-opensolaris-root-password/ If you need to login as "single user" and -e can be used instead of an -s without needing to delete things (this way worked on my install).
