Function #1, To act as a traffic cop. For this you need multiple NIC's which you've said that the machine has. Then you need something to act as a traffic cop. On Ubuntu you used IPTables. IPTables does not work on Solaris but as has already been mentioned, IPF does and you can install and configure it to take care of those needs. Are we implying here that the way to do this is that each app is directed to use a (potentially virtual?) network card/subdomain or proxy address?
