Unless I misread your original post this is what I see:
You're attempting to access _from_ windows _to_ opensolaris via
<user>@<hostname>
If you don't have a local dns server which resolves the mapping, you would
need to edit your
hosts file on windows to resolve hostname <-> ipaddress
