Problem solved, installed this time around first OpenSolaris, and after that
the UBUNTU 9.04 Desktop-i386 version (partitioned the hard disk in two).
Solaris was installed in /dev/sda1 so that means (hd0,0).
After that I edited the UBUNTU /boot/grub/menu.lst file and added at the bottom
the following OpenSolaris entry:

title OpenSolaris 10
root (hd0,0)
chainloader +1
makeactive
boot

Also, I have commented out the instruction hiddenmenu, that is add a # sign at
the beginning of the third line of this section:

## hiddenmenu
# Hides the menu by default (press ESC to see the menu)
#hiddenmenu

Now, when I start the computer, there is a boot menu that allows me to select
OpenSolaris or start with Ubuntu.

Also, one can modify the timeout line in OpenSolaris menu.lst file
(/rpool/boot/grub/menu.lst) from the 30 seconds default to a smaller default so
that you don't have to wait 30 seconds or press again the Enter key since you
have already selected OpenSolaris (unless you add more boot options for
OpenSolaris and you need to choose between them).

Hope this helps, it took me a while to figure it out,
Diegis.
