Alan, thank you very much for the reply. I tried the vesa driver before, but it just gave me some garbled horizontal lines in the mid of the scrren.
However, i got the "i810" driver to run. There is still the described issue, but I am able to fix it by pressing ctrl+alt+bs. When the X server reboots This message posted from opensolaris.org
