Well, if the drivers are there they should be installed, otherwise the network 
connection is misconfigured, or the drivers do not exist.
Before installation, did you check whether the drivers are available or not?
I'm not sure all wireless drivers for Atheros are available. I have a Packard 
Bell laptop using an Atheros wireless adapter which does not have a Solaris 
driver.
For your ethernet you could try by restarting the 'nwam':
# svcadm restart nwam

If it's still not working post the output of 'ifconfig -a' and 'netstat -n -r'
