Still no working serial console cable - but after a bit more reading about the kernel debugger I tried:
moddebug /W 80000000 :c And now see modules whipping by until the system hangs. It gets to probing for devices nodes and hangs after loading and installing agpgart. Copied from the screen: xsvc0 at root: space 0 offset 0 xsvc0 is /xsvc at 0,0 load 'drv/agpgart' id 158 loaded @ 0xfffffffff7d43000/0xfffffffffc0008be8 size 24262/712 installing agpgart, module id 158. After this hand I'm unable to F1-A my way back into the kernel debugger.
