Well, I have tried to boot from OpenSolaris cd and reload the grub...I
couldn't, maybe I just don't know how to do that. I came up with a different
solution - I have an old USB drive (150Gig), so I installed OpenSolaris on it.
I had to change the boot sequence so that the computer boots from the USB drive
first. I hoped to be able to see the original partition on the hard drive and
simply copy my data from there. Then I could override the original partition
and I am done...
Well, now I see in the places/computer the "rpool" that would not mount. I
assume that must be the hard drive with old OpenSolaris, linux and swap
partitions....but for some reason this "rpool" would not mount. I hope I will
be able to to it that way...any suggestions?

By the way, thanks for all the tips so far.
