Just an update. Installing 2009.06 via AI behaves in exactly the same way as the Live CD install.
BTW: Installing via AI on Xeon hardware (IBM X3650) (using default manifests), with the DHCP DNS tweak, results in an apparently working system but no gdm console login on the monitor. Is this normal behaviour for default AI ? are we missing something ? Did find some discussion on changing the grub menu.lst to graphic, doesn't make much sense since opensolaris with xvm boots in text mode in menu.lst but still launches gdm console login. Another question: Why does AI download over 1G of package data from the IPS repository only to install 250M ? Is this normal ? -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
