Was/is the sound and/or audio icon working when booted into livecd? What kind of sound card do you have? OpenSolaris currently is somewhat picky about them - many cards work nicely on 2009.06 if opensound drivers from opensound.com are installed, but break after system update when OpenSolaris's own incomplete Boomer system is installed (e.g afaik it's currently pain to get soundblaster running on completely updated system). The device driver utility (applications - system tools - device driver utility) will help to determine if everything's ok with the driver for sound card, and may hint to solutions. Einar
