Hi, I'm running OpenSolaris 2009.06 on my laptop, and it works fine when connected to the ethernet at work. At home, when I'm not connected to a network, it hangs for some minutes during boot, and again at login or logout.
I'm running nwam (DHCP at work). I would guess it is some kind of network or resolver timeout, but have been unable to improve it by disabling the resolver, or even unable to confirm through some log file entries (didn't find anything useful). The only strange entries in dmesg(1m) is a bunch of Aug 25 21:34:17 hunter pcplusmp: [ID 805372 kern.info] pcplusmp: ide (ata) instance 1 irq 0xf vector 0x43 ioapic 0x2 intin 0xf is bound to cpu 0 Aug 25 21:34:21 hunter pcplusmp: [ID 805372 kern.info] pcplusmp: ide (ata) instance 1 irq 0xf vector 0x43 ioapic 0x2 intin 0xf is bound to cpu 1 Aug 25 21:34:25 hunter pcplusmp: [ID 805372 kern.info] pcplusmp: ide (ata) instance 1 irq 0xf vector 0x43 ioapic 0x2 intin 0xf is bound to cpu 0 Aug 25 21:34:29 hunter pcplusmp: [ID 805372 kern.info] pcplusmp: ide (ata) instance 1 irq 0xf vector 0x43 ioapic 0x2 intin 0xf is bound to cpu 1 but those cease a little while after boot. Seem harmless. Any idea where to look, what to check? -- Regards, Georg. -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
