well. it looks like there is a beta working driver for this chipset here:

but I have been unable to install it, here are the instructions of how to
install it:

I get the error:
Installing Audio Driver for VIA VT8233 AC97 audio controller as <TOOLSva8233>

pkgadd: ERROR: postinstall script did not complete successfully
Installation of <TOOLSva8233> partially failed.
I hope we can make this driver work, and well, then somebody help me.
