Hi, I finally could install both OpenSolaris and Ubuntu properly. My main problem now is that the sound it is not working, although the Device Driver Utility says the device is recognized and its properly installed: the motherboard is an ASUS A7V8X-X and the sound card onboard device is an ADI 1980 of six channels with the VIA VT8235 chipset. It, indeed, should work.
I have installed both Fluendo module and Songbird, but no sound its working, either mp3, wav, etc. This is the only device not working in my OpenSolaris system. My ethernet network device onboard was not working either but I bought a 3com PCI ethernet network card and it works perfectly. I dont want to buy a PCI soundcard just for OpenSolaris too.. specially if mine onboard soundcard should work. Thanks in advance. -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
