Also make sure both the switch and the server are using the same 
negotiation method.  Auto negotiation is preferred

Good:
  Switch=Auto     Server=Auto
  Switch=Forced  Server=Forced

Bad:

  Switch=Auto     Server=Forced
  Switch=Forced  Server=Auto
