I'm pretty sure that there is an OpenSolaris distro called Milax that is basically the OpenSolaris version of "Damn Small Linux" that you can install on a USB flash drive (see link below)
http://www.milax.org/?p=20 What you could probably do is download Milax, burn it on to the live CD (like Knoppix) and then run the USB copy script to get it installed on a Flash drive. The only problem with Milax is that it is a very minimal install (light footprint, small overhead), and I'm not really sure if it fully support IPS, so you will probably have to add much of the software you want using the System V packages from blastwave instead of using IPS (see link below): http://www.milax.org/?p=23 However, if you want lots of features (including some more advanced features that haven't made it in to the official sun "Indiana" version of OpenSolaris) your best bet is to probably try Belenix, which is another OpenSolaris distro that can install on a USB flash drive, but it doesn't try to be minimal and spartan about everything like Milax does. See the following links below: http://blogs.sun.com/uejio/entry/playing_with_belenix_opensolaris_liveusb http://www.belenix.org/ So I think Belenix will probably be your best be. -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
