I am attempting to upgrade my snv97 install to the snv99 release. I have followed the instructions at: http://opensolaris.org/os/project/indiana/resources/rn3/ The pkg image-update command completes successfully and activates the new Boot Environment without issue.
On next boot the system hangs just after the copyright banner. I have enabled debug mode (appending -kv to the line in grub) and the boot process hangs at "Start to prepare identity map for rmrr" Here is the text from the debug boot that hadn't scrolled off the screen too quickly (Hopefully accurately transcribed from a photo!): ------------------- ffb90a72b] data at 0xfffffffffbc00000 module /kernel/amd64/genunix: text at [0xfffffffffb90a730, 0xfffffffffbb49b8f] d ata at 0xfffffffffbc77940 Loading kmdb... module /kernel/misc/amd64/kmdbmod: text at [0xfffffffffbb49b90, 0xfffffffffbbd90 07] data at 0xfffffffffbce0870 module /kernel/misc/amd64/ctf: text at [0xfffffffffbbd9010, 0xfffffffffbbe2f0f] data at 0xfffffffffbcfbb70 SunOS Release 5.11 Version snv_99 64-bit Copyright 1983-2008 Sun Microsystems, Inc.
