[osol-help] PCI-E video card and getting full visual effect

Hi all,
I have a ATI Raidion x1600 "sapphire" video card in my PC.
I have attempted to install the Linux catalyst software  and this has not 
worked. 
Is there a work around?....can I get this working or am I chasing a rabbit?
