and did you run these commands before you tried the pkg image update? $ pfexec pkg refresh $ pfexec pkg install SUNWipkg at 0.5.11-0.86 $ pfexec pkg install entire at 0.5.11-0.86 $ pfexec pkg install SUNWipkg-gui You need to run these commands at the command line in build 86 to make sure that the package manager is patched up to date and doesn't have any bugs in it otherwise you could mess up your system.
