The truth is that I did not have much background information about IPS in
general. So I appreciate your insights. But as of the point of view of an
ordinary user, the information that GRUB has to be installed on the new
boot environment should be outlined somewhere where it can not be overseen.

I wonder even more that the boot did not work because the first update, which
created BE "opensolaris-1", that BE worked out of the box. But I don't want
to stress this topic anymore. I accept that there were issues and I am glad
I solved them. And for further updates I hope that they run smoothly.
