When Indiana is released for real in 6 months, it should have similar levels of polish, but the release planned for next week is a prototype to get people to start testing the new features like the new package manager so that they can be polished for the March release. > *) wil indiana have binary nvidia drivers (and compiz fusion 0.6 as well)? Not yet - suspend-to-ram just integrated last week, but needs a lot of drivers to be updated to support it before it works on a wide range of machines. See: http://www.opensolaris.org/os/community/on/flag-days/pages/2007102001/ > *) is the SXCE x86 edition mainly 32bits, 64bits or both? The kernel, drivers, and some programs are provided in both 32-bit & 64-bit. Most programs are 32-bit only since they don't benefit enough from 64-bit to be worth the extra space taken. -- -Alan Coopersmith- alan.coopersmith at sun.com Sun Microsystems, Inc. - X Window System Engineering
