I am still not sure acpi is causing the freeze on my Dell Dimension E521. The problem described here does match my symptoms and -v ran has similar output. Tried to run new nv-75 build but my machine was already froze. Determined not open the computer up and start swapping memory cards to unfreeze it ( tried this before with success), I tried an old install nv-62. I halted the install before it ran its course and it did somehow unfreeze my machine allowing it to boot into nv-74 on the hard drive. Tried new install nv-75 it goes to selecting the location for time zone and dies. Tried the new nv-75 on my hp and it dies in the same place. Hopefully their is a common problem in nv-75. Don't really know what else to try. john This message posted from opensolaris.org
