I don't think that ZFS is to blame. Here's my reasoning: a) RAM is not freed when needed. Instead, swap space is used. b) Prstat reports that GNOME apps such as gnome-panel are using truly sickening amounts of memory. I had gnome-terminal at over 100 MB, gnome-panel at 85 MB, Nautilus at 100 MB, and a few other similar GNOME apps.
That?s just plain wrong. I installed Fluxbox, so I'll give that a shot. If I don't see any improvement, I'll know that it isn't all GNOME. -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
