hmmmm ... I'm sad to say, but this didn't finally solve the problem... when booting up xVM I just get:
WARNING: cpu0: no workaround for erratum 6336786 v3.1.4-xvm chgset 'Tue Sep 02 22:48:35 2008 -0700 15889:0817d09e4124' SunOS Release 5.11 Version snv_98 64-bit Cannot mount root on /pci at 0,0/pci1022,7450 at a/pci9005,e2a0 at 8/sd at 0,0:a fstype ufs panic[cpu0]/thread=fffffffffffbc5cce0: vfs_mountroot: cannot mount root fffffffffffbc8e780 genunix:vfs_mountroot+356 () fffffffffffbc8e780 genunix:main+dd () fffffffffffbc8e780 unix:_locore_start+80 () I don't really unterstand the problem, the installation ran seamlessly. HDD + Controller are 100% ok! Hardware is: Tyan Thunder K8W S2885, Adaptec 29160 and a Moduslnk/Qualitas 36GB drive (those sometimes cause trouble on RAID-Controllers cause of not having a unique Serialnumber, can this cause a problem like this?). The normal install boots into Gnome without a problem. Maybe I'm missing something, or did something wrong, but while installing I didn't really saw an option which could be causing this problem. ;) -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
