When given process such as Xen or Virtual box loading a image to install a OS,
or when cdrw -i /path/iso is recording to a dvd , the mouse pointer gets lost
(usb or ps/2) and disappears when video rendering gets bogged & slows down with
windows pane movement smearing of the pane on the screen during when windows
are moved around on the desktop at the same time other task is using lot of IO
and CPU usage.. The only way to get the mouse back is to reboot or init 6.
Stopping and starting the dtlogin for Java desktop does not get the mouse to
return. My system is using one Sata 500g HD in ide mode and AMD Phenom(tm) 9850
Quad-Core, motherboards such as ATI or nvidia based ones does not seem to
matter. Any recommendations to use truss or force a kernel crash so I can
diagnose why the mouse in X-windows under a heavy IO and CPU load stops working?
