I've recently changed my video card from ATI 2600pro to ATI Firegl v8600 in my workstation. The Grub loaded as normal but after picking the opensolaris to boot, the screen turned white. I have tried booting into the console mode from Grub by adding "(-m milestone=none)" and run /usr/X11/bin/xorgconfig. But after reboot the same white screen was still there. I even tried booting the original opensolaris CD but the video driver problem persists. I have checked compatibility of the V8600 with "Sun's compatibility check tools" under window and found that the v8600 should be compatible with the built-in radeon/ati driver in opensolaris. I have checked the xorg.0.log file as well. Apparently the firegl V8600 was recognised by xorg.
So i'm lost and hope someone can shed some light as to what to do next With regards -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
