I had restored the optimum and default settings in bios. I had forgotten to mention that in the original post.
The only errors I had were when I had the 5 1TB drives plugged in from my bsd system I was going to try and import and they were about the volume labels. Since I started having the performance issues I've been working with those drives unplugged and have done a few fresh installs since then without them. -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
