Here's some further information...

After seeing "-v" suggested for use during boot in another list thread, I
tried that and it gets as far as:

PCIE-device: pci8086,3510 at 0, pcie_pci9
pcie_pci9 is /pci at 0,0/pci8086,25f7 at 2/pci8086,3500 at 0/pci8086,3510 at 0

When I reboot into snv_79a and list the device/slice it should be booting
into, I get:

lrwxrwxrwx   1 root     root          90 Feb  8 16:16 /dev/dsk/c4t4d0s0 ->
../../devices/pci at 0,0/pci8086,25f7 at 2/pci8086,3500 at 0/pci8086,3510 at
0/pci1000,3090 at 0/sd at 4,0:a

So, perhaps it's getting stuck trying to get to the OS drive? The OS
drive is a 2-SATA-disk mirror on an LSI SAS3041E-R controller on an Intel
S5000PSL motherboard with 2 Xeon 5160 3.0 Ghz dual-core processors.
Could this be a driver issue to the LSI controller?

Thanks for any insights anyone can provide...
