There is no 3D hardware acceleration for ATI graphics in OpenSolaris at
this time, only for nvidia & intel graphics. An engineer has been
assigned to work on restoring the previously ported ATI R300 DRM module
to working condition and then updating it to the latest community release
that supports newer cards, but that's a project likely measured in months
to years, not something that can happen overnight.
