I downloaded Open 2009.6 and installed it on VM without any problems. I liked it so wanted to have it on bare iron, but seems it won't boot on my computer. The initial blue menu appears, I select first option and it tries to boot, says copyright bu Sun Microsystems... smething something... and than hangs on this line:
[b]trap: Unknown trap type 8 in user mode[/b] No HDD or CD/DVD activity, I tried with VESA option (even that I knew that this has nothing to do with graphics) but same thing happened. So I cannot even boot live CD. My hardware is: Asus P5Q-E Q9650 @ 3Ghz 8Gb of RAM GeForce 8800GT 1 SATA and one ATA DVD-RW, tried with both 160GB ExcelStor SATA HDD with Windoze on it (MBR) 1TB Seagate 7200.12 with OS X and linux on it (GPT) Please help, really liked OpenSolaris in VBox, don't want to give up. -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
