The 2009.06 (build 111b) and 2010.03 stable releases are like RHEL 4, 5 etc
The development builds are like fedora Quite a few of the development builds are stable but they can have issues especially when major revisions of items like Xorg are added. You need to carefully read the release notes that are available for each release and watch this help alias after a release announcement if you want a feel for the release before committing. The update process is very forgiving though now that you have a version installed since it creates an alternate boot environment (ABE). If you do not like it then boot back to your 111b ABE. Read the release notes though especially if you are going from 111b to 130 since there have been changes in the install process. I have three 111b SRU versions to boot from plus build 129.
