hrm, i was wrong....i'm still not able to connect to the internet...but a lot 
of the other stuff is working....being new to solaris, what exactly do i need 
to check?

I have no idea what /etc/nssswitch.conf is supposed to look like so i'm 
guessing this is likely my problem.
